In addition BRBA advertises on behalf of our members in several key publications.

BRBA maintains social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the purpose of promoting our member businesses.

Events & Festivals

The BRBA currently produces 4 downtown events and festivals which helps drive large numbers of people to town.  We are actively working on producing or working with other organizations to produce events during the months of January, March & August.  Our goal is to have year-round events or festivals that draw people to our community during both busy and slow months.

City & County Collaboration

The BRBA President sits on the Fannin County Tourism Committee and works closely with Jan Hackett at the Chamber on issues important to BRBA businesses.  Each month the BRBA President attends the Blue Ridge City Council meeting and has a dedicated time slot to address the council on issues reliant to local businesses.

Each month the BRBA President walks the downtown streets with the Mayor to address issues related to downtown infrastructure and city projects.

Fire and Ice Chili Cook-off

is in February the Saturday of Presidents weekend.  By February cabin fever has set in so this is a perfect time to get outside, try some chili and see many beautiful ice sculptures.

Old Timers’ Parade

Originally the farmers would come to town on Saturday so the parade was always held on the Saturday closest to July 4th.  Now days we have the parade on the 4th no matter what day of the we it is.

Downtown is a Safe Zone

In the mountains we don’t have many street lights & homes are far apart.  Our local downtown merchants came up with the idea of having all of downtown “Safe” for our children.

Light Up Blue Ridge

is a town wide holiday festival with entertainment, Santa arriving on the train then visiting with children in the park all afternoon, evening parade and then lighting of the Great Tree at 7 pm.
