Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association (BRMAA) is looking for someone like YOU to help us introduce visitors to the “Crossroads: Change in Rural America” exhibit that will open at the Art Center on Saturday, June 20th through Friday, July 17th. Blue Ridge was one of six communities across Georgia selected to host “Crossroads” – an exhibit that highlights how rural American communities changed in the 20th century. Along with this traveling Smithsonian exhibit Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association has developed complementary local exhibits and programs such as Communal Pen writing workshop, recording of oral traditions, history hiking tours and so much more. We are looking for VOLUNTEERS that will . . .
- Greet visitors at the Art Center
- Give a short history of the Art Center
- Direct visitors to the various exhibits within the Art Center
- Interact with visitors regarding the exhibits
If you are interested in being a part of this special event please read, complete and return the attached form to me no later than June 11th. The Crossroads exhibition schedule consists of 7 hours days/6 days a week for a period of approximately a month, we are hoping that you can pitch-in by volunteering a few hours even if only for one day. Also, please assist us in finding volunteers by sharing this communication with your friends and family.
Please know that Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association is following local, state and federal guidelines as it relates to COVID-19 (I.e. wearing masks, hand sanitizing stations, social distancing). Volunteers will be required to attend a training session scheduled for Thursday, June 18th where among the many topics being addressed will also be the health and safety of our volunteers, guests and staff.
I look forward to hearing from you, your friends and family . . . thanking you in advance for your consideration and cooperation!
